Geek Talk - "Fish or die" - Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program

"Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is one of the few groups on Long Island that works directly with local commercial fisherman, helping to ensure this unique and historical way of life is preserved. The CCE Fisheries Team works with the commercial industry as well as with local, state and federal managers to ensure local fishing is sustainable. They aid in the design and testing of conservation fishing gear that reduces by-catch of non-target species. This talk will introduce you to the CCE Fisheries Team as they discuss and provide updates to several projects. From local seafood marketing, to marine debris, to innovative gear design, come see and hear about all the interesting projects the CCE Fisheries Team is working on."

A collaboration between Fish Guy Photos and übergeek Brewing Company, “Geek Talks” is a lecture series with a night of great beer, delicious food, and a wealth of knowledge shared by local naturalists, educators, researchers, and other geeks.
